Não acreditei quando vi isso. É impressionante. É o sonho de consumo de qualquer fã de King Crimson. Não esperava, achar um vídeo de tão alta qualidade, dessa banda maravilhosa, cujos vídeos da fase áurea são tão escassos. Até onde sei existem:
- Aquele fragmento de uns 30seg do Hyde Park, de "21st Centruy Schzoid Man", filmado em Super8, com áudio do show por cima.
- "Easy Money" ao vivo em Nova York, qualidade sofrível (apesar da minha cópia ser bastante razoável) junto com o vídeo promocional e os créditos encerrando com o letreiro de "King Crimson & Black Oak Arkansas" ao som de "Larks' Tongues in Aspic Part II" com vídeo da performance (só tenho isso em VHS! Quem quiser ripar, à vontade, entre em contato!).
- E o clássico Larks' Toungues In Aspic Part I ao vivo no famoso Beat Club.
Se alguém tiver algo mais do que isso, FAVOR ENVIAR! Não amarre! Essas coisas precisam deixar de ser raras!
Mas indo ao que interessa... Nem interessa resenhar isso. É puro e simples. É um vídeo do King Crimson. É maravilhoso. A qualidade é altíssima. O repertório é lindo. Tem 30min, é o vídeo do programa completo. É o mesmo programa Melody onde o Genesis se apresentou (tenho esse vídeo! Quem quiser peça nos comentários), com o mesmo requinte de imagens TOTALMENTE BIZARRAS aparecendo no Chroma Key. Muito embora neste do King Crimson, a coisa tem um bocado mais de bom gosto, são de fato bizarras, não infantis e totalmente ridículas. Mas afinal, não é este o melhor sabor dos anos 60-70? Não dá pra acreditar numa coisa dessas saindo da sua TV! Ninguém mais tem coragem de fazer isso! Muito menos de mostrar uma banda como o King Crimson na TV! "Larks' Tongues in Aspic Part II" é simplesmente impecável, parece a gravação original, até você ouvir o ATEMORIZANTE solo de violino do David Cross... Cara, que coisa incrível. Alguém precisa me explicar o que esse cara faz pra ter esse som no violino, não é simplesmente por ser elétrico. No solo ele lança umas harmonizações super tensas, além da virtuose. Na improvisação que antecede "The night watch" cria-se um clima mais leve, e evidencia-se a genialidade dessa banda, que sempre é genial, não importando época ou formação. Na própria faixa, vemos mais uma vez uma performance impecável, tão divergente do King Crimson ao vivo, tão cacofônico. Em "Lament", entra mais uma vez a estranheza desse programa... Alguém quer me explicar, pelo amor de Deus, o que diabos tem a ver essa música com essas tetas?
Independente do artista em questão, eu quero ver mais vídeos desse programa. Não bastassem as ilustrações infantis em "Supper's Ready" na edição onde o Genesis toca, além das imagens interplanetárias enquanto eles cantam "I know what i like" sobre um JARDINEIRO, agora vocês me vêm com essas tetas enquanto o King Crimson canta suas lamúrias sobrea indústria musical? Será que os arrogantes franceses são tão arrogantes ao ponto de não entenderem absolutamente nada de inglês? Ou eles acham que isso é o surrealismo ou a "nouvelle vague"? Que povo esquisito, credo! Mas não deixa de ser hilário! Finalmente, "Starless and Bible Black" entra rasgando tudo pra deixar aquela deliciosa última impressão de que o mundo é cruel e nem só de flores vive o Rock Progressivo, à la Van der Graaf Generator. LONGA VIDA AO KING CRIMSON! QUANDO É QUE ELES VÊM AO BRASIL, MEU DEUS?! Podem baixar os arquivos de ambos os servidores, vai dar na mesma, são os mesmos arquivos. APROVEITEM!

I couldn't believe when i saw this. It's amazing. It's a dream for any King Crimson fan. I didn't expect to find such a high quality video of this wonderful band, whose best phase videos are so scarce. As far as i know there are:
- That 30sec fragment of "21st Centruy Schzoid Man", filmed in Super8, with original audio added.
- "Easy Money" live in New York, not that great quality (my copy's quite reasonable, though) along with the promotional video and credits ending with lettering "King Crimson & Black Oak Arkansas" at the sound of "Larks' Tongues in Aspic Part II" with video of the performance (i only have this in VHS! Who wants to rip, be my guest and get in touch!).
- And the classic Larks' Toungues In Aspic Part I live at the famous Beat Club.
If anyone has something besides of that, PLEASE SEND! Don't store it! These things must stop being rare!
But let's get down to business here... It's no use reviewing this. It's plain and simple. It's a King Crimson video. It's marvelous. The quality is the highest. The repertoire is beautiful. It's 30min long, it's the full program video. It's the same Melody show where Genesis performed (i've got this video! Who wants ask for it in the commnets), with the same speciality of TOTALLY BIZARRE images showing up at the Chroma Key. In this King Crimson video, they've acquired their taste; they're really bizarre, but not childlike and ridiculous. But let's face it, ain't it what made the 60-70's what they're today? You just can't believe on such a thing coming out of your TV! No one else nowadays has the guts to put a band like King Crimson on TV! "Larks' Tongues in Aspic Part II" is simply impecable, sound like the original recording, until you hear the TERRIFYING violin solo by David Cross... Man, amazing thing. Somebody has to explain me what this guy does to get this sound from the violin, not only by being eletric. In the solo he shoots some really tense harmonizations, besides of the virtuoso effect. In the improvisation that forecomes "The night watch" you get a "light" mood, and rises the genious of this band, regardless of the age or line-up. In this very track, another impecable performance, so different from the "live chaos" King Crimson. In "Lament", comes again the weirdness of this program.... Somebody, for Christ's sake could tell me, what the hell does these tits got to do with this song?

E para aqueles que nunca ouviram o Fripp abrir a boca - pena que o voiceover em francês detona as possibilidades de compreensão. Definitivamente esses caras não entendem nada. Só o Antonin Artaud mesmo é que era bom... ;-)
And here's to those who never heard Fripp open his mouth - too bad the voiceover in french kills any possibilty of comprehension. Definatevly these guys can't understand a thing. Just Antonin Artaud was good... ;-)
