E mais um disco solo dos integrantes da "Sociedade da Grã-Ordem Kavernista", e mais uma grande surpresa! Hoje em dia nem escuto tanto mais, porém, quando baixei este disco, eram praticamente 3 audições no mesmo dia, durante quase um mês, eu juro! Disco sensacional e surpreendente... Melodias marcantes, ótimos arranjos e um disco variado, que vai do chorinho e do samba-canção ao rock n' roll e funk-soul sem muitas delongas e sem medo... E notoriamente, um disco gay. Sim, eu acho que aqui o Edy Star se assume numa boa, sem medo e sem preconceito. E nem venham me chamar de preconceituoso só porque estou dizendo que o cara é gay, esse reforço de preconceito que hoje em dia se coloca é assustador. Você não pode sequer dizer que tal pessoa é gay que está errado. Ora, afinal o fim do preconceito não se dará quando começarmos a lidar com isso naturalmente? É interessante citar isto, pois é uma característica marcante do album, tal qual a vontade explícita de Edy de ser uma grande estrela. Ele atua assim. Tive o privilégio de assistir a um show dele na virada cultural de São Paulo do ano passado, e sua performance é totalmente condizente. Acho um disco importante para se ouvir, tanto para aqueles que amam a psicodelia brasileira, tanto para pesquisadores e amantes da boa música. Destaco as músicas: "Claustrofobia", grande número de abertura, pauleira, bem ao estilo das coisas que Alceu Valença fazia no começo de carreira, misturando o rock n' roll com um som regional, bem dançante. "Edith Cooper" é uma canção deliciosa, um arranjo onde o piano é proeminente, bem funkeada. "Esses moços", composição clássica e famosa do grande Lupcínio Rodrigues ganha aqui uma roupagem clássica com timbres modernos para a época, bem ao estilo de "Sessão das 10" do disco "Sociedade da Grã-Ordem Kavernista". "Briguei com ela" tem um groove latino muito gostoso, e uma melodia divina! "Coração embalsamado" é um tango com pitadas de rock n' roll clássico, uma letra simplesmente incrível! O bônus "A bem da verdade" é sensacional, uma pauleira, mais uma amostra da fusão dos ritmos regionais com o bom e velho rock n' roll. Guitarras fuzz e agogôs juntos em pura harmonia, e mais uma vez, sem preconceito! Divirtam-se!

And another solo album from a member of "Sociedade da Grã-Ordem Kavernista", and another great surprise! Nowadays i don't even hear it that much, but, when i downloaded this album, i pratically heard it about 3 times in the same day, for about a month, i swear! Amazing and surprising album... Remarkable melodies, great arrangements and a varied album, that goes from chorinho and samba-canção to rock n' roll and funk-soul with no lateness or fear... And noticeable, a gay record. Yes, i think that here Edy Star assumes himself at ease, no fear or prejudice. And don't you call me prejudiced just because i'm saying that the guy is gay, this reinforcement of prejudice that happens nowadays is frightening. You can't say that someone is gay, and you're being prejudiced. C'mon, the end of all this, won't it come when we all deal with it naturally? It's interesting to say this, because it's one of the most marking characteristics of the album, such as the willingness of Edy to become a great star. He acts like that. I had the privilege to see his show at the last year's "Virada Cultural" in São Paulo, and his performance is towards that. I think it's an important album to hear, to all those who love the brazilian psychedelia, as to researchers and lovers of good music. I highlight the songs: "Claustrofobia" ("Claustrophoby"), great opening number, heavy, quite similar to what Alceu Valença did at the begining of his career, blending rock n' roll to brazilian folk sounds, quite dancing... "Edith Cooper" is the wonder here, the piano leading the arrangement, quite funky. "Esses moços" ("These young folks"), classic composition by the great Lupcínio Rodrigues, here gains the classic string arrangements with modern timbers (at that time) quite like "Sessão das 10" ("10 o'clock movie session") of the album "Sociedade da Grã-Ordem Kavernista". "Briguei com ela" ("I fought with her") has a quite nice latin groove, a divine melody! "Coração embalsamado" ("Embalmed heart") is a tango with slices of classic rock n' roll, with simply amazing lyrics! The bonus "A bem da verdade" is sensational, really hard groove, another sample of that fusion of brazilian folk rythms with the good ol' rock n' roll. Fuzz guitars and agogo's in pure harmony, and again, with no prejudice! Have fun!
