Bom... Alguém conhece já ouviu falar do Odair Cabeça de Poeta? Não, o dos Novos Baianos é o Paulinho Boca de Cantor. Esse é o mentor do Grupo Capote. E alguém conhece o Tom Zé? Ah, agora sim né? Pois, o famoso "anti-rock" Tom Zé é padrinho desse grupo, inclusive compôs a música "Eu disse que disse" especialmente para o grupo, nunca a tendo gravado ele mesmo! Não saberia dizer se o Grupo Capote realmente criou esse "forrock". Certamente eles tem um estilo único, isso se ouve claramente no álbum, que é um grupo que conseguiu desenvolver um som original, e em algumas músicas sim, como "Paulada no coqueiro", a famosa "A feira da fruta" que ganhou tal status depois de ter sido brutalmente jogada num vídeo bobinho do YouTube, numa paródia do Batman (nem me lembro se da série ou do filme), e "Tu tá comendo vrido?", aí sim se ouve elementos característicos dos dois estilos... Mas pra que ficar rotulando as coisas, não é mesmo? Independente de classificações, o Grupo Capote realiza neste álbum um grande trabalho, um disco muito variado mesmo que numa estética grupal muito bem definida, muitos elementos de psicodelia, e vários contratempos que de parecerem tão simples, não devem ser coisa fácil. Ainda assim, é um disco bastante acessível, e pros DJ's de plantão, tem muitas faixas boas pra pista, bem humoradas e suingadas (se é que você é um DJ que se preocupa com o que as pessoas estão dançando, sem fazer playlists já pré-arranjadas). Eu particularmente, acabo gostando muito de música bem humorada. Não precisa ser nada que te faça cair na gargalhada, mas te dá aquela sensação de um riso contido... Vale muito a pena ouvir! Sei que eles tem mais discos posteriores, este é o primeiro. Ainda não achei os outros! Bem como nunca vi este LP em lugar nenhum (a não ser algumas vendas extorsivas pela internet), e certamente não foi lançado em CD. Se alguém ficar meio intimidado (ou melhor, desconfiado) pela "barangosidade" da capa, lembre-se: Deixa de ser preconceituoso! Se a sua frigidez intelectual não se sentir desafiada, lembre-se que Tom Zé apadrinhou os caras e mais de uma vez trabalhou com eles como banda de apoio, e até mesmo em gravações! No "Todos os olhos" (1973), por exemplo, a música "Dodó e Zezé" é com eles! Dodó é o Odair e Zezé é o Tom Zé... Né? D'oh! Baixe, ouça e divirta-se!

Well... Anyone ever heard about Odair Cabeça de Poeta ("Poet-headed Odair")? No, the one from Novos Baianos is Paulinho Boca de Cantor ("Mouth-singered Paulinho"). This one is the mentor of Grupo Capote. And anyone ever heard about Tom Zé? Ah, now you dig it, huh? So, the well-known "anti-rock" Tom Zé is the godfather of this group, and also composed the song "Eu disse que disse" ("I said that i said") specifically for the group, never recorded the song himself! I couldn't say that if Grupo Capote ("Fallout Group") really created this "forrock" ("a style that would blend "Forró" and "Rock"). Certainly they have a unique sound, you can hear it clearly in the album, that it's a group that developed an original sound, and in some songs, like "Paulada no coqueiro" ("Hit in the coconut tree"), the famous "A feira da fruta" ("Fruit's fair") that gained such status after being trown in a stupid video in YouTube, on a parody of Batman (can't recall if it was on the series or in the movie), and "Tu tá comendo vrido?" ("Are you eating glass?"), on those yes, you hear characteristic elements of both styles... But why are we labeling stuff, right? Neverthless, Grupo Capote makes in this album a great work, a varied album even in a very closed down aesthetic, many elements of the psychedelia, and various counterpoints that, from sounding so simple, they're probably not that easy stuff. Even on this, is a quite acessible album, and for the DJ's over there, very nice tracks for the dance floor, well humoured and swinging (if you're a DJ that worries about what people are dancing, without any pre-modeled playlists). I particularly end up falling in love with well humoured music. It don't have to be anything that makes you fall of the chair, but gives you that feeling of a choking laughter... Very nice to hear! I know that they have posterior albums, this is their very first. Haven't found the others yet! As well as i've never seen this LP anywhere (besides some extorsive sales on the internet), and certainly was never released in CD. If anyone feels intimidated (better, suspicious) for the "cornyness" of the cover, remember: Don't be so prejudiced! If your frigid intelectuality don't feel chalenged, remember that Tom Zé was the godfather of these guys, and more than one time has worked with them as his backing band, even in recordings! In "Todos os olhos" ("All the eyes") (1973), for instance, the song "Dodó e Zezé" is with them! Dodó is Odair and Zezé is Tom Zé... Right? D'oh! Download, listen and enjoy yourself!
